A Monk Swimming

In Malachy Mccourt's short story "A monk Swimming", Malachy talks a lot about his past life. I like it when he talks about how he is always go to show us americans that irish people are better. I didn't really understand the book but from my point of view Malachy writes a lot of good details when he talks about what happens to him in his life. I like how every section when he is going to write about something else, he has this little journal he writes about what that section is going to be about. I like it when he goes around the world just to search for fathers. I'm not sure what exactly he's talking about but then when Malachy found this one last guy I'm pretty sure it was his father. This guy was a alcoholic. He was like Malachy's father, that is from my point of view. Malachy goes and searches for the father of his life. He writes about his search at the end of the book he says, "I tramped all over that field, and the field of the south of it, and to the north of it, and every other field, but never again did I find that well, and never again did i find the father who brought me there." If i were to rate this book out of five stars, I would rate it three.
